Anatole vs Alistar

Times: Alistair Darling's confidence seems misplaced

After last week's speech on economic prospects from Mr Darling, I can, however, make one modest proposal for a contribution to Britain's economic revival: less complacency from the Treasury and fewer ludicrous boasts from the Chancellor.

He has it spot on. Darlig brown nose just repeats what the cabinet want him to say rather than take some real action to sort the problems out. They've got themselves into a corner - no more money, hidden public expenditure on decades of PFI et al and well and truly in a corner. Unfortunately now - as evidenced with the spin - they're also morally bankrupt.

Don't blame Darling. It's not Darling's speech but Brown's, or maybe it's Balls'. More likely Balls'. All the Fionnualas please note Anatole's point: it's not the ratio of people to houses that matters - it's prices, mortgage rates and economic growth. In other words...HPC

The commentary was very interesting. How does that work out in practice? - what's the market doing?

As I type, Platinum has just hit another all time high.....Mmm!

Anatole often gets it wrong, although maybe not this time.
