Not suprising anymore..

Bloomberg: Fed May Cut Rate to 3%, Hold Out Prospect of Further Reductions

The Federal Reserve may lower interest rates for the second time in nine days and indicate a readiness to go further if the economy deteriorates.

How can they cut further beyond 3%? The last stats given out by the Fed said inflation was at 3% so cutting below that gives the old Japanese favourite, negative interest rates. They can't possibly go down that road - when are they going to realise that THIS IS NOT 2001!! It might have worked then but only because of a reckless credit boom and there is no appetite for that kind of credit anymore.
