Reuters: Pension schemes' deficits close
Pension schemes have been an unlikely beneficiary of the turmoil in the credit markets sparked by the subprime mortgage crisis.
A major factor behind the dramatic improvement in many pension schemes' funding is due to the falling value of AA-rated corporate bonds, which firms use as a benchmark measure for valuing their pension liabilities.
