Reuters: Gold jumps after Bhutto death, platinum hits record

"Gold jumped on Thursday, hitting a one-month high as geopolitical tensions mounted, prompting a flight to safe-haven assets". Spot platinum set a historic peak, tracking gold with further support from positive fundamentals.

A lot of informed press have been quietly saying 'buy gold' for a while now.
The most interesting thing though is as soon as gold starts going up, all those herds of investors will be jumping off the property bandwagon onto the gold bandwagon.
Then round the middle class dining room tables 'How much gold did you say you had dear? ... Yes and it's gone up another point in the last 5 minutes. D'you know that the price of gold never goes down?'
Seen it before. Many fingers got burnt then as well.
