Olivant threat to pull out of Rock bid.
BBC: Rock suitor threatens ultimatum
The Banks all around the world in panic mode throwing money into the markets does not bode well as it smells of desperation.
Olivant threaten to pull out of the Northern Rock is more bad news.

It's an interesting slant on the whole story isn't it?
How about rewriting it more truthfully as "The buyer is threatening not to be interested if their offer isn't accepted! (and isn't that mean of them?)"
It is amazing how the BBC have been such a good little lapdog to the government on this. As we've always said the government rescue was a massive mistake. You can't have light touch legislation and rescue reckless banks when they get into trouble.
You try telling that to central bankers that they can't have the bun and keep the penny!
