If inflation is such a risk, why have the BOE cut rates?

BBC News: Police to vote on right to strike

Prime Minister Gordon Brown told MPs the government had to ensure that pay settlements were affordable and consistent with wider pay policy.

"I would like more than anybody to be able to say to the police that we could pay their wages and their salary rise in full.

"But I have to say to them that no policeman and no person would thank us if their pay rise was wiped out by inflation," he said.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

It seems that GB has lost the plot on just about everything these days. We are slowly being dragged into the abyss. Even foreign policy is a complete mess nowadays and the UK is either despised, viewed as being arrogant or treated like a laughing stock by an ever increasing number of countries. Please rid us of these clowns, three terms is unbearable.

I only wish that there was a progressive, suitable alternative. I love the idea of loosing Labour but will have many sleepless nights if ARROGANT, nasty Cameron gets in charge.

Seems like the glubberment have fiddled the inflation figures and then backed them up by saying that wage inflation is low.

Of course wage inflation is low!! They've engineered it so that many many manty more jobs are public sector, and then tehy pay them minimal increases!!
