The Times: Economists warn of UK ‘stickyflation’ next year
Graeme Leach, the IoD’s chief economist, said inflation would slow in 2008, but not as fast as output levels, making it harder for the Bank of England to cut interest rates. Inflation is already above the Bank’s 2% target and some economists say expectations of rising inflation are at their highest for eight years.

"Graeme Leach, the IoD’s chief economist, said inflation would slow in 2008".
An interesting statement when oil & platinum have just hit highs and our exchange rate against Euro-Land (where we buy loads of goods) has hit an all time low (.....meaning we pay more £s in future for the same quantity of goods).
I guess Leach's PA wrote this long before the Christmas party...!

'Stickyflation'? If we're making up new words then I think 'crashyflation' sounds a lot better.
