Update to the Real House Price Graph

Nationwide: UK House Prices Adjusted for Inflation STILL climbing

Well, looks like we ain't listening. For those of you waiting for the real house price graph to be updated, if you go the Nationwide website, it shows prices are STILL going up beyond the trend rate.

It's possible that the deals completed in July-September (Q3) were higher value than in April-June (Q2), but there is no way that deals completed at the end of September were higher value than those completed at the end of June. You have to take into account also the skewing effect of HIPs.

BTB - this is the last death thows of the housing market for mid 07 - late 07. 2008 will solidify the picture as credit really dies up for 'joe average'. Result - back to quality of lending and very low volume. However, the press and VIs will always paint a rosy picture if it suits their interest. This whole economy will be a 'death by a thousand cuts', but I don't know if I'm right, so go ahead, spend... ;-)
