The coffee beans have arrived.

Yorkshire Evening Post: £100m flats plan axed

I have driven past this development with its purpose built marketiing suit for over a year now. I must admit I'm quite disappointed it isn't going ahead because this would have saturated an already saturated market in Leeds and fullfilled Gordon Brownstuff's policy for more affordable housing, just goes to show he was just bullsh!tting as usual.

But.... surely.... demand is still high...? what about the immigrants? ...and the divorcees? David take note - this is the start of the evidence to show the reality behind the sham of strong housing market fundamentals.

He said: "On the one hand, I'm disappointed. But maybe I have had a lucky escape rather than buying into the market at a bad time."

Skin of teeth, my friend!

It would be nice if they turned that 2.5 hectares into a park or sport's fields - green space is sadly lacking in cities these days due to the greed of developers and the lack of foresight of planners.

I work in the 'square 10 yards' that is Leeds financial district, a stones throw away from Globe road. They closed an extremely popular car park to build that development which now appears the land is just going to lay dormant, what a waste of everybodys time! And now I have to use a car park that costs 8quid instead of one that costs 4!!

The linfoot apartments on wellington street and the large block already built on whitehall road *still* have phone numbers on the side to call if you want to buy one of these hutches... why would anyone sane want to?

My bet, Lumiere (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumiere) will be next for the chop. A blinkered friend of mine was strongly suggesting he would buy and that I should to. Admitidely Lumiere *would* be an impressive addition to the Leeds skyline, but when will the council / developers get it into there thick skulls, people don't want to live in flats they want to live in houses. I tried it for 3 months and it was rubbish.
