Thank you for subsidizing the tenants

ThisIsMoney: Buy-to-let has become a 'rich man's game'

'Would-be investors who have missed out on the impressive returns of previous years are now finding the hurdles to property investment are higher than they imagined. 'However, existing landlords should be able to use the equity in their past investment properties to fund the deposit needed for new ones, and this should ensure that demand from the buy-to-let sector does not dry up entirely.' Mwaaauuuauuuuuuhhhhahhhhhhhhh

Does this mean that BTL ranks alongside blackjack and roulette as an investment strategy now then? But the bank always wins in those games....... Oh I get it now.

I had a bit to do with casino's in the late '70s (on the govt control side), they were frequented not so much by the rich but by second rate thugs with illicit often immoral gains that could be squandered (sounding familiar?). You are right that blackjack was weighted in favour of the banker, the rules made it that way, but roulette odds were usually 50/50. The problem for the 'mugs' - (the esteemed and worthy gamblers) was that the house rules could be remembered or forgotten or introduced if the mug seemed to be on the verge of winning anything.......... oh I also get it now.

I think that I grew up watching too much James Bond. I believe that it is the £20-30 per night punter that keeps the UK casinos going. I also thought that the puropose of the 0 in roulette was to break the 50/50 and make profit for the house, but I must confess that that is about the limit of my knowledge on casinos.
