Sell your house and leave the UK now

Times: Bags to be screened on trains in plan to create fortress Britain

Does Gordon know something we don't, should we sell up and leave?

If your read to the bottom of this you may want to!

So the government releases their latest bulletin to ratchet up the fear factor and keep the sheeple in line, sneaking more 1984-style measures in in the background. Anyone surprised? So trains and airports won't be targets anymore - of course nobody gathers in groups anywhere else, do they? We're all safe, then. Where does it end?

Unfortunately it does not end

Control freaks become drunk on the controlling of other people’s lives
This does not present a problem if the person controlling is of sound
Mind.
However it becomes a problem if they are not of sound mind as history has proven
With Hitler, Pol pot etc.

I hope all future governments are of sound mind.

With the greatest respect enuii, don't you think you are a little off topic here?

I am also concerned at the prospect of the government using terrorism as an excuse to 'protect' me but this is not the right blog to discuss it.

I commend these alternatives:

Absolutely.

If they are serious about the war on terror (featuring suicide bombers on return tickets with 8 month pregnant wives), why don't they first of all, interrogate the BBC reporter in NY who predicted the collapse of WTC7 26 minutes beforehand? She must know something about the whole thing. Why don't they take her to Guantanamo Bay (let alone Rudolf Giuliani who ordered the destruction (dispatch to China) of the debris of WTC towers that were extremely important evidence of the crime)? And above all why don't they do all-out investigation into those who made the world's easiest billions by shorting the shares of the companies located on those particular floors of WTC towers that were hit by the planes. Of course they did nothing. Instead they are scrutinizing the shampoos of the air passengers. It's about time that we realized how criminally ludicrous the whole story is.

Ah yet more FUD - fear, uncertainty and doubt. It may not surprise you to learn that FUD is extremely lucrative whether your family members are romping around Iraq or the 'stans as private military contractors (the RPG through the bedroom window in Baggers ended that contract - and two Australians, unlucky - great photo though), or designing crypto for ID cards as CESG CLAS consultants or working at the big house in Cheltenham or making toys for the MoD - lots of stuff that goes bang. It is a small and somewhat close knit community. Consider this to be our marketing campaign with the strap line 'If you only knew what I know'.

Just don't ever question whether or not it is worth it, you may not like the answer.

On the other hand it could just be a way of employing lots of retired half Colonels and Rear-Admirals on lots of money for very little real return.
