Forecast for 2008 - Thunder storms

FT: Postcodes show which properties will do worst

Across the country the outlook is now bleak for property owners. New builds will suffer more than period homes. Quality always outperforms in a difficult market; bad news for the BTL then.

What utter trash.

My prediction for end of 2008 >>>>

London down 5% ( taking RPI = 10% overall )

Southeast down 5 - 10% ( taking RPI = 15% overall )

Northeast and Northwest down anywhere up to 25% ( taking RPI = Up to 30% )

Hotspots ( flats in Liverpool etc ) down anywhere up to 50% ( taking RPI = Up to 55% ).

Understand the markets and demand, who in there right mind is going to consider 100K plus for a pad in a less than prime area must be bonkers, a falling market will confirm it - moderate corrections might apply to prime properties but others will fall by the way side.
