Tax changes are going to impact the house market.

BBC: Coping with the new tax changes

"People who have owned assets for a long time may find that the new CGT rate could exceed their current potential charge, which would have been reduced by indexation and taper relief." ah aha ha ha hha hha aaaahahha There will be a huge number of homeowners who will rush to take profits out of their big houses bought for peanuts in the 90's. For them holding until after April is not an option anymore. "These changes may also impact on middle-range foreigners working in the UK, who use structures to ensure that their overseas funds escape the UK tax net." This will take care of the foreign property investors who have propped up the market in Chelsea too. aha hahhha ahhahahh

So, for those who bought just after the 1990's crash, offloading will occur, for those who bought recently, they will offload into a saturated market in April. Seriously tho, if I had a buy to let I wouldn't know what to do. My instinct is that this could hold off a crash until after April as HIPS and this starve the market of new property for sale. It would have been a clever way to hold back a crash until after an election. I guess that Brown is banking now that the economy will be recovering in 2010 and that a feel good factor will have returned along with the promise of the Olymic games, as I had always thought. But he must be steaming now that he didn't lynch Tony Blair, because he'd have stormed an election held this time last year. In my mind that shows a lack of leadership and its more than just his tough luck, it shows a lack of character. I hope he pulls through tho, because I think I'll emigrate if Cameron tries to run the country with all the Tory clowns behind him and no policies (except for his chums), stupid jokes Boris dick head leading London back to the gutter.

Name me one thing that Boris has proposed that is in the slightest bit positive? Has he proposed anything at all? All he did was say a few jokes to the camera and get photographed riding a bike when his standing was anounced, and he only stood because he got sacked from the Spectator Editorship. The real reason why he has been chosen and hasn't said anything of any substance with regards to policy is because the Tory Party brief against each other as soon as a progressive policy agenda is even hinted at. They are incapable of consensus or debate, so they just try to entertain, but Court Jester Boris will send London to the dogs.

Ken has decades of experience leading London, he was proved right in the failure of Metronet and the Public Private Partnership, standing up to Labour and now has been given full control of Crossrail because the government don't want to proved wrong twice. Boris the Jock would never have the intelligence to understand the failings of any Tory policy let alone have the balls and ability to stand against any government in the name of London.

This month Ken announced that disabled people without access to the tube or bus network will be given free dial-a-ride door to door transport. School kids, unemployed all get free bus travel, and bus tickets for normal people went down 10% to 90p. In the mean time the bus network has been extended to the biggest of any city in the world and it functions like a dream. If that's Red and Socialist, then me? I'm all for it.

If the Tories announce any policies then New Labour will pinch them. Basically New Labour say no-one else has any policies and are of no substance, as soon as any policies are announced by their (nu LabOur) rivals then they pinch them and use them for their own.

Wake-up lefties, New Labour are pulling the wool over your eyes. You can keep believeing as our economy is driven to a pathetic husk of it's former self by massive over-taxation and 10 yrs of econmic make-believe; just don't expect much money spare for your precious over-inflated, un-substainable public services in 20 years.

Is mewing an answer to capital gains tax, mortgage the house, piss some of the money up the wall, gift some every year and stash some away tax free. Then when the day of reckoning comes along the proceeds from the sale can be split between the mortgage company and the relatives without Stalin Brown getting his hands on it.

Just a thought or am I mad.

There's obviously a reason for why Gordon (i'm assuming Darling is a puppet) is doing this, and now. Why? Was it happening anyway, election or not? I doubt it. With the election off, could Gordon be trying to crash the housing market (blaming it on 'external forces')? He's seen the signs in the US, Ireland, Spain etc, knows it's going down the tubes anyway and wants to get the worst over with while the economy still looks sound, then slash interest rates to avoid the recession, all in time for an upswing around election time with the feelgood factor of the Olympics coming up?

The bill was over the price, and that it ment that I had to pass over a new blue £20.oo note so, I cut the order back and said that my accounts/book keeper was collecting them and is stashing them. (She goes into my walet each day an substitutes old notes for the new blue notes in it). I don't mind as she is totaly ethical. The women serving exclaimed 'Oh' many of our customers are asking us to provide Blue £20's new noted for old notes and small coin change. Matress mentality. Sorry for the spelling, I have just had a bottle (G. Brown) of wine and, too boot, I am dyslexic and drunk. I do not care, as my writing output is prolific and international and my bank accounts are full. Check Property Snake. You will see that that crash is on. I may look like a cabage but I am not green behind my ears. Good luck to you all that post. The great depression and HPC is on us. Thank you. Off shore. Not in the UK.

Shipbuider and all: Copy and paste:

>>>>>> Dear John, ( Money Morning)

Thank you for your daily e-mail, I enjoy it and it lift my spirits. I would love to write for you but I do not have time and besides I am dyslexic. Anyway I know that you will like to read this and it may give you some ideas. :

From the book Naked Spirit Chapter 4- The Scale of Emotional Health minus 3 one of 11 levels listed. From your writing, I know that you intuitively know this, but seeing the whole scale from minus 5 througth Zero to plus 5. is most helpful as it allows anyone to classify personallities therefore in your case anyone writing for you will be able to hone their skills.

Gorden Brown is at - 2 = Chronic Anger. Darling is at -4 = Chronic Appeasement, Propitiation & Sympathy. Therefore it is easy to predict the inevitable consequences of their relationship. It will result in Darling loosing his temper and punching Brown. Blair is at -3. If you want me to send you a confidential personality profile report and the handling stratergies for brown, e-mail me and I will send you pdf.

Is this the level of estate agent, bankers, politician, Salesmen (especially to old people at minis 4 aqnd five), media personnel and so on?

Negative - 3. Covert Manipulation, Concealed Hostility, Clandestine Malevolency
• This is probably the most populated chronic emotional level in these times.
• Problem: difficult to immediately assess that they are in this category; only time reveals this to individuals higher on the scale as their game strategy unfolds.
• Those in chronic grief and apathy ( - 3 and - 4), never comprehend their strategies.
• Always present a cheerful facade, often with a nervous laugh and constant smile.
• Appear calm, pleasant and resourceful.
• Seem to be sympathetically or morally concerned in politely asking probing personal questions about you, your work, your relationships, your sex life, your politics or your religion.
• Their anger remains invisible, yet they are petrified of anyone in anger.
• Jealous and extremely dangerous.
• Cruel cowards.
• Manipulative, they engage in gossip readily but have no qualm in covertly twisting facts around, to knife into the back whenever, wherever and to
whomever they can.
• When confronted, they change the subject to move away from the point and are always rewriting history or changing the truth about past events to suit their current position. They will do and say anything to avoid exposure.
• Through their appearance, word, propaganda or advertising they present themselves, their services or products as being ‘so nice, so charming, so
condescending and so helpful’.
• For objectives that they are too lazy or fearful to undertake themselves, they covertly manipulate and subjugate individuals at chronic -4, -5 and -2 to do their bidding and dirty work.
• Their targets are any individual, families, groups, companies or nations that they consider high on the scale (e.g.+3’s; +4’s etc.), attempting to bring them
down to chronic appeasement, grief and apathy (- 4 and - 5 levels). They would like everyone on the planet at this level so that they can feel power.
• They have little time for children unless they can use them as an introduction or a weapon for manipulation towards their strategy of introverting others down to -3 and minus 4.
• Their unstated aim is to cause ruin, discredit achievements and split up relationships.
• At this they can be very successful and gloat when their victims go down into the lower chronic levels of - 4 and -5.
• Males at this level subconsciously know their fearful limitations. They can be slothful, but have a need to control and suppress women down to the -4 and -5 levels so that they can feel secure in their sexuality, (as also happens in males at -1 and -2).
• Males at this level occupying influential or powerful offices can instigate acts of terrorism and war.
• You cannot trust anyone at this level with your health, your money, your reputation, your safety, your husband, your wife, your children, your business, your company, your country, or this planet.

I have already posted this here but it as gone over your heads. Is everyone on posting on this blog site at - 3 = Crhronic anger?

You mentioned that are getting married keep your eys glued to http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/ & http://www.propertysnake.co.uk/. You can enter post codes and see the discounts of any area or you can check out regions such as Wales, etc. Also watch the Hedge Fund Implode Meter http://hf-implode.com/ & http://ml-implode.com/ Morgage Lenders Implode Meter.

I predicted black Wednesday and the 90's house price crash, I even wrote to my MP warning the Tories, he telephoned me and was not a happy man. Nevertheless it all came to pass.

Remember that most Estate agents, bankers, MP's and so on are at minus 3 in the NS book page 75. I hope this helps your family and future. Just trying to help. Sending a copy to you mother as she is interested in these things.

Good Luck<<<<<<

Unfortunately, BTL properties are not classed as business assets and therefore are not subject to the same taper relief rules. Under the current rules, the maximum CGT would be 40% when selling (assuming the property is kept no longer than a year). Where the property is held for a number of years, taper relief will reduce the CGT to 24% - this is the lowest it could go. The new 18% flat rate, will therefore probably encourage BTL even further. Thanks Gordon - so much for having aspirations for housing.... The only BTLers which could potentially be negatively impacted are those who brought property before 1998 - when indexation allowance ceased. But going forward, this new policy will again favour BTLers over aspiring FTBs.

Down wave we lost everything in the last house price crash of the 90s and are still living and working hard to cope, with the consequences. We are in our late 50s and early 60s with no security now for the future which is pretty scary at our age. However we never see anyone talk of those times very much or anyone expressing the consequences they had on people. It's almost as if the attitude is 'oh well it's tough luck and that's gone and now we move on', but I'm sure people are still suffering and they're not communicating and there's no help for them. You're one of the only people I have seen who has related to those times and the terrible consequences they have had on people. It makes my blood boil to see people being cushioned these days so it never happens to them, from keeping interest rates low, therefore house prices up and fixing the inflation rate, right down to their inheritance not being taxed. Oh poor things they have made loads of money by sitting in their houses and doing sod all so how cruel to tax them on that. They should be helped by raising the tax threshold. Yes go on help the peole who already have everything like a true socialist and ignore those have have lost everything and can't get back on the property ladder!!
