House prices have fallen for the first time this year as experts predict that overvalued property prices will cool substantially this winter.

Perhaps that is what prompted Darling's go ahead for Crossrail, which will bring 30,000 jobs to London.
As a financial centre, our pre-eminence is a little tarnished, of late.... something has to take the place of all those lost jobs!
