BBC Spinmasters: Credit crunch 'to hit UK growth'
"The credit crunch is also expected to raise the interest rates that banks offer to mortgage customers, but the Item Club does not expect that to lead to a serious correction in house prices. The real victims will be among formerly fast-growing parts of the financial sector, which may be a good thing, according to the Item Club's Peter Spencer. "Having to reverse gear may not be such a bad thing," he said. The report cites over-exposed hedge funds, private equity businesses and property buyers who have borrowed a very high proportion of the value of their properties as groups most likely to be hit" Item Club, stop please ahah ahahh my sides are aching, stoooooppp ah ah

There is a good report on FT.com but unfortunately i think it is members content.
It shows that there is a great entreprenuerial culture in South Africa right now.
Whereas people in the UK, USA and Canada are more likely to make money from inheritance, salary or marriage.
whoops.

Yes, and according to the Daily Mail today, it seems that we have a manic depressive in charge of our country. Absolutly No offence ment to people suffering this condition.

It's a good thing?
These guys have glasses that are definitely half full. "It is true that the plague has returned and is killing thousands of people a day, but this could be a very good thing..."

Whiteknight - yeah but there are also over 70 rapes a day in SA (both male and female). EVEN the UK hasn't got that bad yet!!! Perhaps the entreprenuerial culture is borne of a desire to get the hell out!
