State Guarantee = Profits Taken from share Trading
Bloomberg: Northern Rock, Rivals' Shares Rise on State Guarantee (Update4)
Northern Rock up 8.2%, Alliance and Leicester up 28%, I wonder how many privvy to this information have bought and sold today, nice little earner. If this wasn't the BofE of HM Gov I wonder what it would be classed as!

I think this may show that there is very little chance of a HPC occurring now. I think there is too much too lose at HM Govt.

Reading more about the implications of this deal - it is the strangest thing you have ever seen.
So the major shareholders quickly bail out as the government , FSA and BoE go in with the tax payers money and the countries credit.
Its just bizarre. People must be looking at this and thinking holy cow - what are they doing?
Given how long this has been predicted and how easy the path is to follow - you have to wonder why this is such a slapped together piece of crap.
