Despite my gentle warnings, many friends have jumped into the housing market as BTLers due to the poor performance of their pensions, and of course on the fact that "the housing market can only go up". I, like many on this site, have made decisions based on their own opinion of the economy and housing market, however, could any-one profer an opinion on how pensions will be affected by the instability of the markets. It always amazes me that we are offered numerous pension plans by companys that expect an informed decision by people that, by and large, do not have a clue.

I've just pulled 12k from my account with A&L, the way I see - why take a risk for a slightly better rate than some of my other safer accounts? New offers on the market recently surpass what I was getting with A&L anyway - I will check their background very thoroughly before depositing with them.

I know Labour are guaranteeing savings now, but I didn't trust they to run the economy properly or believe their broken promises, so I won't believe this promise either.
