As I suggested in a previous post expect Gordo to act to stop petrol going over £1.00 a litre. The last thing he needs now are fuel protests plus folks tend to look at rising petrol prices as an indication of inflation which will blow the fiddled government inflation stats out of the water.

And most probably the highest POST TAX petrol.
But I don't think whats the hoo haa. On many petrol pumps its already that figure.
And as for inflation what difference it will make. As according to some toss pot its 1.8% adding a couple of pennies on a litre will make it go up to what 1.9%. Can't see the difference..

Unless like me you can't understand what goes into this calculation to make it 1.8%..
Or unless you want to talk about education level in UK but thats a topic for Daily Mail and not this website

C'mon chaps. we've broken the Milk cartel, now for petrol!

On the serious side, the fishing day ticket has gone up from £6.00 to £7.50. Line, floats and fishing accessories have gone up 15%. How's a bloke able to follow a hobby these days? The government has Mervyn backed into a corner. The BoE knows inflation hasn't dropped but the stats say it's below 2%.

It's my prediction that VIs will press Mervyn to CUT interest rates next month. If you read Bloomberg and the US press, there are hints that the Fed could reduce IRs further. Most of the people looking at this site will be able to work out what that means for HPI.

It is disgusting that the Govt will increase petrol duty when the price has gone up because they would have got the additional money in VAT anyway.

But yeah it won't be included in the CPI, no chance.
