A couple of months ago, there was talk of a snap election. Now Gordon Brown will want to put as much distance and time as possible between the queues at Northern Rock and the queues at the polling station. But in the meantime, who can he turn to to bail him out of this mess? Why, the people he‘s always turned to, of course - the taxpayers…

Not only are us taxpayers expected to provide funds to ease cashflow but it now appears that we are expected act as guarantor for ailing (or should that be failing?) financial institutions.
Running a business would be very easy indeed if you never had to worry about generating enough cash to pay the staff (and Directors bonus) or, if you could sleep soundly in the knowledge that all that bad/loss making business that you have conducted will be underwritten by BoE!

I will now go and work on my companies budget for the coming year safe in the knowledge that inflation is pegged at under 2%..

It seems that its all ok now, Pravda have said the queues at NR have gone down and evrything is rosey in the garden.......
