Borrowers told to lie to get the mortagage application through ... surely not!
BBC News: Borrowers told to lie about wages
"A BBC investigation has found evidence of serious mis-selling in Britain's sub-prime mortgage market"
That would be because if they didn't exactly how many buyers would get a mortgage!!!

Is it all the fault of "wicked salesmen and corrupt institutions"?
Doesn't the borrower have the nous to compare the repayments with take home salary? Are these folk safe to be let out unattended?
