Barratt blaming Northern Rock ...

BBC News: Barratt blames Rock for falling sales

Is it not the case that Northern Rock is in trouble because there is an underlying problem?
A 10% drop in sales and a 20% drop in share price - chief executive Mark Clare needs to find someone to blame - now!

"We expect the market it to recover. We just don't know when"

My prediction is sometime around 2017. In the meantime you'd best be stuffing books down the back of your trousers like naughty schoolboys, beacuse you are about to have your backsides spanked.

Talk about stating the bleeding obvious. We are living in the dodgiest economy since (well, has there been a dodgier one?) who knows when, we're 1.3trillion pounds in debt, the shakiness of the whole house of cards, in the form of huge queues outside a high street bank, is splashed across the front pages and the lead news items on TV and Barretts suggest this may have impacted on people's sentiment. No sh*t Sherlock!!! I suppose if the Red Army invaded and imposed martial law, Barratts would still expect people to be out looking for homes to buy. Morons!
