I remember the 1970's so we should be very worried especially if you have took a mortgage out in the last 5 years or so. Highly leveraged borrowers will have no room to manouver when hit by rising utility bills, consumer durables and food after the recent naff weather as well as rocketing mortgage costs and falling house price. If we then add in a desperate labour government trying to maintain its tax revenue and attempting to control wage rises via fudged statistics and we have a very smelly situation.
