Stall!

BBC: UK house prices 'stall' in July

Greeting all; When my old Vauxhall Chevette used to "stall" it generally stopped and when it "stalled" going up a hill - such as UK houseprices -, it then used to roll backwards at alarming, uncontrollable rate!! Currently taking a sabbatical in South America but pop in regularly to keep up to date and read the amusing rants and opinions. Suggest the City could do with referencing this site for future economic predictions as they are slowly being uncovered as the muppets they really are... this is getting enjoyable!

You know, if it weren't too much to request, could an update to the HPC front page graph be due soon?

I used to have a shove-it, as in to get it going you had to... loved and hated it at the same time! Bristol has a pretty robust (and expensive) market, I guess due to all the londoners buying houses there after being priced out of the SE, I presume even places like there will suffer in the coming HPC, but how much? (lots of hills in bristol)

Stall! My first car was a Cortina Mk1 GT. It was old at the time. One day it stalled and it never ran again. Pieces of the upper engine such as piston rings were found in the sump.
My guess is that the BBC view stall as the folly of a learner driver i.e it will turn the key and be off again all within the blink of an eye.

My first car was a grey Nissan Micra. It never stalled, but only because I knew its limits and never pushed it too far. I was sensible, unlike the people who are buying houses right now.

According to the article: "Nationwide said house prices would slow in the second half of the year."

Slowdown in prices? - i.e. price falls? Or do they mean a further slowdown in the rate of HP increase? Ambiguous, or are they finally admitting the game is up?

Or like an aeroplane. The next bit is the out of control tailspin descent.
