713,000 NI numbers given to foreigners last year

BBC News: UK gets 2.5m new foreign workers

"The 713,000 figure for the latest year is more than double the 349,000 National Insurance numbers allocated to overseas nationals in the year to April 2003. "
It's no wonder that buy to letters are cashing in on the rising demand for rented accommodation with so many arriving each year (over 2000 a day, plus dependants).
Where will it all end? There are nowhere near this many houses being built each year.

Sooner or later the jobs will run out, or/and the benefit system will collapse. Millions of people pouring in and raping the benefits system, clogging up our schools, roads, hospitals and trains and making our streets unsafe. We must be a laughing stock to these people, seriously! But never mind, because are houses are worth more. The BNP are going to make mince meat out of this!

When the economy eventually goes south (as it will) Enoch Powell will unfortunately eventually be proved right on what he prophesised decades ago.

I worry about that as well. There were never any issues in the rich part of Belfast. Housing is a bigger issue now than after the smashed buildings of the war. If the economy tanks then what? The CDOs mean that there is a big pension loss also, there must be. I read this site because I thought there was going to be a house crash. Now it seems we are sleep walking to a sick social disaster.
Everybody lambasts that poor soul landlords association but really he is the only one with any good news.

Again goes to prove that the government have lied and lied and lied. No wonder politicians are the least trusted profession after EAs. The situation in Wrexham is getting dangerous. There are now parts of the town I will not go through because they are occupied by large groups of Polish or Portuguese men who hang around during the day in a cloud of smoke (not working it would appear) and give daggers and loud unitelligable comments to anyone with the nerve to walk past. Considering these BBC numbers are approaching 10 times the numbers in our depleted armed forces (most of whom are fighting ridiculous wars around the world), we are in serious trouble if things turn nasty.

Come on enuii, enuff off this right wing propoganda. You sound like the facists of the 60s, maybe you should get some buy to let property and have a sign in your window and say "no blacks, no irish, no dogs and in fact no bloody foreigners" Foreigners help with the economy, if there were no darkies etc who do the jobs that lazy English people won't do.

Blame Thatcher for selling off council housing and her legacy that trickled dowm to Nu Labour.

As for Mr Powell, I guess his prophecy was almost right, although I think he meant to say "rivers of flood"

Geez Gozbong are you seriously blaming Thatcher who left office 15 years ago for the mess we're in now?!? Seems a little harsh.

'Foreigners help with the economy' - what, by driving down wages and making an already bad situation utterly dire for the low paid sector.

'jobs that lazy English people won't do' - you're like the Stasi doing over your own countrymen - vile! People tend not to work because the benefits system makes it un-economic for them to do so and become dependant on the State. Get rid of income tax for the first £10k earned and people might be tempted to 'get on their bikes'

I'm sorry but blame for this mess lies firmly with the current ruling class - Nu Labour

By doing away with the lower 10p tax rate Nu Labour have ensured that people on lower wages have even less incentive to work, you would have thought that the plan is to get everybody on benefits to ensure future votes but that would be a rdiculous conspiracy theory.

By doing away with the lower 10p tax rate Nu Labour have destroyed the will of people on lower wages to work even more. I suppose the idea is to get everybody on hand outs to ensure future votes.

This isn't right wing propoganda. This is fact. It is a fact that if you have a large sudden increase in people coming to a country it will put a strain on services and property market. This is simply a matter of simple supply and demand. It is not the only cause of the inflated UK property prices but it is certainly one of the causes. And people like you making the kind of comments that you have, result in this problem hust being overlooked. We are a tiny island with a finite amount of space (FACT). all causes of inflated property prices must be addressed including immigration. The government seem to have a lack of control of important areas of our country, including immigration.

Gozbong.

I’m also getting tried of not being able to say what I think in these crazy politically correct days!

I have to pretend that I have blinkers on in some circles. Being a white, nearly 40 male in full time (self) employment makes me the only demographic that can’t speak my mind!

The BNP might do better if there were less coarse. One thing is for sure. Round my way the infamous after diner talk has started to shift towards the right wing of late.

Take your blinkers off and have a look around you. It’s OK to acknowledge that all is not OK!!!

This doesn’t mean I’m going to join the Nazis. It just means I haven’t had a lobotomy!
