Let s move to York

YorkPress: House prices fall

"Good...i want to buy a house but can't afford it. If prices don't come down i'll have to swap my girlfriend for a younger model. I reckon if i get a teenager pregnant, buy a parrot, get turned down for booze at Tesco even though i've got my passport...then complain to the press i'll jump to the top of the council housing queue." York is screwed, for sale signs everywhere. It's mainly flats that are the problem. And with 3 major new developments of "luxury executive apartments" currently being built, the situation is only going to get worse.

The job situation in York is deteriorating, Nestle are only just about hanging on in the city because they are being begged and bribed to/

Love this classic EA line - "Who knows what will happen to the market if it stops raining..." - yeah, blame it on the weather!

Interesting, I was in York at the start of the last crash and only just scraped out intact back down to the smoke. York was one of the first to show real signs of recession then 1989 which quickly spread. Toursim is a key factor and I suppose with the weather takings are down. Just shows how fragile some micro economies are and which straw breaks the camels back. .
