Yes, I've noticed this recently .... that there are a huge amount of large, expensive (£300,000+ in this area) houses coming on the market along the Welsh Borders. The current rate is probably 3 times the number of cheap (£100,000 to £120,000) houses coming on. Frankly, I'm not sure what is happening? Are people downsizing, MEW'ed a little too much, trying to go up the chain? Any ideas?

In the last few months I have been speaking to new residents over here in NZ, many of them fellow Poms. They either seem to have sold an expensive house like you describe, bringing over heaps of cash, or had nothing and got racked off with the idea of never being able to own.
