Clear why Gordon wants election ASAP - economy is crumbling
Mail: Cameron: 'I'm ready for Brown's snap spring election'
Couple of thoughts... GB needs to seize the moment and go to the polls asap. In the meanwhile expect no actions: a) any decisions / actions by him would be risky and may expose his talent (or lack thereof), b) he will just sit and hope economy does not crumble in the meanwhile... what an outlook! But if he said in the spring, then expect the economy to deteriorate afterwards

and GB's lack of confidence in the "labour miracle" (one thing for sure, GB is not a fool) is also why he pressed so hard re the handover agenda... and why Blair put up so much resistence and was doing the 'dance of the rain' at #10.
Gordon is the key doom-maister... he knows exactly when the circus will fold
one last thought, i am really curious why Blair let it happen. I have one hypothesis, health problems, another hypothesis is they are blackmailing on something, and that can be Iraq. Look the coincidence Lord Goldsmith resigning last Friday. BAE? mmm?

Perhaps Blair or Prescott (or Both) have the negatives of the rocking horse rider.

A lot of people have been talking of a property crash for a long time, and to be honest at one stage i also believed that there would be such a crash. But a lot of experts have been saying that there won't be a crash and thus far they have been right. the main reason for avoiding a crash has been given as due to a lack of housing. well so far thsi argument seems to have been right. I would be interested on peoples opinions about why they still think a big crash will happen.

GB might go to the polls earlier, perhaps even this autumn - can he wait until next spring? It might be too late by then.

Sorry chaps, Gordon Brown does not want a snap election any more then a property crash. Gordon Brown is thinking how to distance himself from Tony Bliar and he has to put sufficient water between himself and Bliar to convince the electorate that the Labour [New Labour?] is refreshed and re-vitalized. Tony stood for spin and headlines. Gordon stands for substance and success. That sort of thing.
Check out the funding for the Labour party. Look beneath the wall paper and see the inherent cracks in Labour. Remember that a large, very large number of Labour MPs have a small majority. I dislike quoting exact statistics because if you torture data for long enough, it will tell you anything, however, check out the number of Labour MPs whose majority is less then 600. Until very recently, Plonka Cameroon and the Tories were ahead of Labour in the polls.
Gordon Brown needs to show the country what a great chap he is in order to win the 2010 election.
I hope the economy is crumbling by then. If things start to look bad, watch Labour policies prop up house prices.
