2bn BTL tax giveaway
Guardian: First-time buyers vs landlords? With £2bn tax relief, no contest
Buy-to-let investors enjoyed tax relief worth £2bn in 2006 - in stark contrast to first-time buyers, who do not qualify for a penny, research by Guardian Money reveals. The first analysis of the scale of tax reliefs received by landlords indicates that the annual subsidy is likely to rise to £3bn by 2008, eclipsing the total amount spent by the government on social housing.

gordie was on newsnight telling us how wonderful he,s gonna be , and how things will be different, he can start by banning mp,s from directorships and sitting on the boards of companys thus wiping away all vested interests, making them do a 5-6 day week and letting all politations know that information is available on the web that its not imperative to always go on fact finding tours (family holidays) to the west indies, thailand ect at the tax payers expense during winter especially,

Ah Gordon Brown the officially unelected PM. Gordon will say anything to get people to vote for him and and his collegues will attest he treats people with "contempt" and no doubt that same contempt will be spread quick thickly over the British public in an attempt to hoodwink us. Seasoned bloggers on here and other people who have the ability to think will not be taken in.
Anyway enough of my hatred for the vile creature Brown and intrigued to see how this BTL tax business will pan-out and whether the people champion "Greasy Gordon" will walk the walk in addition to talking the talk. If the government plug the tax loophole completely I think this just may be the catylist for a correction.
My guess is Gordon will produce a token gesture which will no doubt involve him standing on his soap box spouting something about "affordable housing".

Andy Wiggans, director of mortgages at Bradford & Bingley, says: "There appears to be a head of steam against buy-to-let, particularly among people who write to newspapers. But I have never come across a first-time buyer who has lost out because a buy-to-let landlord has come along and outbid them."
So your personal experience is statistically significant, how?
