When every last bear turns bull

Safe Haven: Oh, the Fear of It All!

A great article explaining why the stock markets will turn parabolic before they crash.

This can be applied to the UK housing market too.

I think he's correct but he's got the wrong stock market, look at china that's a mega bull market in equities with the general public jumping in, plenty of optimism there. When that baby blows it will take the rest of us with it as recent events showed.

MM,

I think you are right. It is unlikely with US house prices falling that the US general public will pile into stocks like in 1999. From now on, it will be when China sneezes the rest of the world caches a cold.

...But given that it is mostly US funds that are raising China's Stocks, Where do you think all that money will go when China has its (well co-ordinated) 'shock' ??????

Interesting post from BBC's Robert Preston:

"However I find it hard to ignore the paltry profits generated by Chinese companies and their poor accounting standards. Listed Chinese companies are typically trading at prices equivalent to 50 times their earnings - which brings back disturbing memories of dotcom lunacy from the not-too-distant past. "
