US house builders discounting houses to shift them

BBC News: US home sales up as prices slump

Sales of new houses in the US in April rose to a 14-year high, according to a government report.
The number of single-family homes sold leapt 16.2%, ahead forecasts and making an annual rate of 981,000 units.
