Lack of reasonably priced housing a political hot potato
BBC "News": Call for migrant housing rethink
Established British families should be given priority over economic migrants for council housing, government minister Margaret Hodge has said.
Cheers for that, Marge. How about housing for the rest of us too? And BTW, Des Browne whinged the other day about the state of armed forces housing, and the lack of affordable property for soldiers and their families.
How long can central government keep ignoring the issue we wonder?

One simple solution to all teh Government's political, and our financial, gripes and ills - stop sustaining the property bubble. Sorted... well almost.

"stop sustaining YOUR property bubble" is what we should be saying to them.
They have fucked an entire generation over (I choose my words carefully there too).

Rimmer - the brits want to do F all work, and get everything for free. Why shouldn't their be fair competition.
Don't hear them moaning about the holiday homes they've all bought in Bulgaria and the like.
Arrogance like that needs to be slapped down IMO

Sorry George - I was specifically referring to those brits who expect foreigners to work harder for less money and get ot the back of the queue for everything, whilst allowing brits to buy holiday homes in the foreigners country.
There are a lot of people who want their cake and eat it.
The comments by hodge are pandering to this arrogance and a general racism.
sovietuk has basically hit the nail on the head.
