Are you listening Merv this is whats going to happen cos we're the BBC , got it!
Reasons why it could be 5.75%
1. Merve said he was "determined" to control inflation.
2. Questions have been raised about the compitence of the MPC by parlimentary select commitee and the main stream press.
3. Tomorrow all attention will be on Blairs resignation speech ( good day to bury bad news and all that).

I think the bank have done a good job of communicating the rise this month. Everyone has counted it done and got over it.
I guess they have more sway on feeding stories to British Broadcasting Ministry of Truth than to Murdoch's Ministry of Information.
I am glad to see that T-Day isn't been used to bury it (Tony-Day)
