Right - I'll stop posting anymore today - seems like I'm obsessed by this....well I am to a degree.
I live up North [North of the Democratic Republic of London] and this perfectly exemplifies the strange view [until now] from anyone living in the South that the economy was great and everyone was having a fantastic time in Gordo's new economic miracle!!

Quite clearly Blair and co ARE the establishment, i.e., wolves in sheep’s clothing. The social policy stuff is just window dressing to keep people 'happy' while they carry on running the system for the benefit of the elite. There are no political alternatives in the UK. We are a one-system state, and a multi-party democracy in name only. I hasten to add that in saying this I am not make a value judgement - I'm just describing what I see.

Meanwhile, anybody who has an offshore bank account, however modest, is being drilled into the wall, including us. Euro savings held at 2.5% until we complete a house purchase on the continent. We just got a letter from Barclay's saying they will now forego the normal laws of disclosure and privacy and turn over everybody's Guernsey banking records to Gordon Brown. Don't know if Gordon's noticed, but it's about the only place to keep euros if you need access to them at all without astounding administration charges. Rather, why doesn't he have a good look at Tesco's bank account, or BP, or the banks themselves who are hauling in billions. How about some of those who stroll around buying football clubs. I'd say those of us who are merely shifting the load off our backs by abandoning rentals and buying in France should -- for once -- get a break from their damnable "scrutiny." How about it GORDON? At the moment, still in Edinburgh and voting SNP all the way. I've read the articles from the Times saying the SNP would take back Scottish oil revenues and declare complete independence. Well, good for them.

Alex Salmond does not seem to be too intelligent, but at least he is speaking from his heart and guts. While Jack McConnel is,.....I cannot possibly comment on this maggot!

According to the Metro website, the wealth of the 50 richest in the UK list has increased by 20% in the past year, the wealth of the 50 richest Europeans by 14.8% and in the US by 8.3%.
I think the 'Economic Republic of London' is a more relevant title!!!
