Cheerleader-in-chief for the American housing bubble is quiting

CNN Money: Bullish real estate economist to step down

"David Lereah, criticized for excessive market optimism, to leave National Association of Realtors."

That Lereah is quiting really has to say something about the former bull market for real estate in the US.

Lets not forget - anyone can make money in an upward trending market.

Looks like its all coming home to roost in the USA (pun intended) - how much longer before people realise that the chickens they have counted wont hatch for ever?

We are in for a very interesting 24 months in the UK housing market.

Interest rates may dampen the market, but a wave of unemployment will send it into reverse territory. With the former comes the latter.

Fasten your seatbelts!!

"The economist who prodded investors into the U.S. housing boom and has been skewered by bloggers during the bust"

Who will we (HPC bloggers) force to resign? Should we start our cheerleader list?

This is huge news. For those that' don't know of him, he's also the author of such classics as "Are You Missing the Real Estate Boom?: Why The Boom Will Not Bust and Property Values Will Continue to Climb Through the End of the Decade - And How to Profit From Them" (2005)
