Sky: Pimping for the mortgage

A Tory councillor who sold his girlfriend, a woman with learning difficulties, for sex has been given a 12-month suspended jail sentence.

Alan Burkitt, of West Bromwich, in the West Midlands, advertised the woman on the internet to help pay his mortgage.

What amazes me is that he is a councillor. You would think it takes more intelligence than this to get into politics. What about his colleagues? Didn't they realise? How much political acumen do they have? No wonder they are not in power.
