Property prices cooling
Fool News Wire: House prices start to slow
Figures from the Nationwide show that property prices are slowing down due to the three rises in interest rates since last Aug and the expectation of further increases. Nationwide's chief economist predicts, however, that the market in the short term will remain "fairly firm".

"softening". Sounds a bit like "going squidgy". It almost sounds comforting, like a feather bed.
A bed of nails will be more like the reality.

Spike Milligan had the following written on his tombstone; "I told you I was ill". In a couple of years, someone should spray paint a sign on the M25 motorway bridges (next to the existing one that says "Why do you do this every day") a message saying "I told you prices would crash".

Glorious sunshine, don't sell yet!!! stay on the bullish path for a while, I want to acquire your portfolio at rock bottom price, so I need you to believe the hype. Keep watching kirsty while she still has a job and look on the BBC website. You will find some very uplifting biased journalism on here. If you want a real feel good factor, have a look on rightmove, they are always "talking up the market". Do this for at least the next 18 months. Your property should be in the auction by then, or at the least marked down by a hefty percentage.
when you find yourself having to sell your chelsea tractor, give me a call, I know a few farmers that could use a "never been offroad" 4x4.

George Monsoon has a point. The BBC are unreliable. Do remember these are the same people that said Iraq had chemical weapons, North Korea had no nuclear capability and England would do better under Steve McClarren.
