5 million extra units needed by 2029?

Firstrung: Households to grow by over five million units by 2029

The number of households in England is projected to increase from 21.1 million in 2004 to 26.0 million in 2026 and to reach 26.5 million in 2029. The drivers of household growth are similar in the updated 2004 based household projections and the 2003 based ones. One person households account for 155,000 of the 223,000 annual growth to 2026. One third of these one person households are in the age groups over 65 years.

O my me, there was me thinking that the UK population was actually going down, I know lets ignore that in our figures and add in lots of europeans that are never going to go home even when they have no jobs anymore.

The economy can't support the population now, and our economy WILL get weaker. We have yet to pay back tax to fund previous growth let alone future growth. No more jobs to support the people, no £5 million extra units required as population is more likely to decline than increase.

Then again, no one can afford to have kids, so there will be no young people to want houses.
