It's those pesky iPods driving down inflation again
Forbes: DVDs, sat nav systems, mobile downloads make debut in UK inflation basket
"Measuring inflation in the UK will change to include DVD recorders, satellite navigation systems, digital radios and mobile downloads for the first time, reflecting shifts in spending habits, the Office for National Statistics said."
Call it manipulation if you will, but this is how they're making up the numbers now.

How ironic then that Mortgage Lenders have had to recently concede ground on how much they charge for various get-outs and arrangement fees. Time to get those figures into the basket of goods then!!! No wonder I'm so f*cking cynical!!! Against this backdrop of book-cooking I think high IRs are a thing of the past - time to buy a house then.
