Brown's taxes are highest since mid 80s

Telegraph: Taxes are at highest levels for 20 years

Further tax increases would seriously jeopardise the UK economy, driving business away and putting househoulds under pressure, an IMF report says. This comes in the wake of a YouGov poll showing that Briton's were losing their faith in the ability of Gordon Brown to run the economy competently.

what about pfi's - think we are well passed the point of tax burden already and with future spending. At last that w**ker Crash Gordon is starting to be seen for what he is. The worst chancellor in history. (except the last labour one).

"Gordon Brown has lifted the tax burden to breaking point and must slash public spending or risk plunging Britain's national accounts dangerously into the red, the International Monetary Fund warned yesterday."

Brown cut public spending ? - his party is financed by public sector unions. Yes, a runaway train is now in motion that will be a catastrophe for the finances of this country and for individuals. Idiotic ideology before practicality and reason. Expect a financial crisis on an unprecedented scale.

If the chancellor was just useless I would be scared but he is dangerous which is simply terrifying.

There is nothing "miraculous" about an economy propped up by high taxes and debt. Within my family we have unfortunately had cause recently to use the NHS. Was I mistaken or did the NHS over the last few years have billions extra pumped into it? After waiting in an ambulance outside A&E for an hour due to not being able to queue in the corridor we then spent two hours in the said corridor.
Thanks Labour, I am really glad you are putting the highest tax burden for 20 years to good use. No doubt some of th extra taxes are used so Labour can take out injunctions against the BBC. Complete disgrace, Nu-Labour but same old shite sadly.
