FT.com: MPC plagued by inflation uncertainty
The one thing Mervyn King is relatively sure about is that the economy will grow healthily over the next three years.
This has been the one fixture in recent quarterly inflation reports which have otherwise been characterised by change – the Bank of England’s forecasts have yo-yoed, its risk assessments have jumped about and interest rates have gone up three times.
On almost everything else, Mr King was cautious and uncertain.
