Utter rubbish
Daily ExpressSALES: SCRAP NEW TAX ON HOUSE SALES
I beleive this as much as the other bull that comes from "experts" in the industry.
I was under the impression that HIPS would add some degree of framework to protect buyers from the
dubious and well documented practices of estate agents. However, the Daily Express seems to think
this is a tax.
"But a study by property company In2Perspective showed last year that the proposals could instead trigger a £1.35trillion property crash."
Why does this deserve the front page ?

Not in reference to this article, but I just wanted to state an observataion I've just made.
Normally those that frequest this site will add links to all of the property related news that is available. And I mean all. Positive and negative. Admittedly we generally all sit here and slate the 'positive' news stories as the media spin and VI nonsense that they usually are (with the the notable exception of NoHPC and GS). But has anybody noticed...
How long it has been since there were any positive news stories?
I've just scanned the list in the article window and cannot see a single artice that is positive for HPI.
Subprime disasters in US. Over supply of BTL new builds. Japan riasing interest rates.
The market cannot sustain all of these small knocks forever - even with the seemingly endless naive optimism shown by most property speculators.

I posted a positive article from the NY Times a couple of days ago, but it disappeared off the list very fast. The market there is apparently resurgent.
Apparently.

This article is fantastic news for people hoping for a HPC. It'll hopefully start to spread panic among sellers, we might even see a glut of people trying to sell up before June 1st rather than have to get a HIP.

Well - I have heard that it's so good they had to name it twice.

Well, that means it's only got to get better by a factor of 10 before it catches up with Prince:

But lets face it, New York is unlikely to ever catch up with old Goodger

I am all for bashing up Labour on their Stelth Taxes of which there are many, HIP's may have issues but it atleast is a start. If I purchase a £200 car the Seller must ensure that they provide me with the correct paperwork, with a £20 Toaster I get a one year guarantee with a Home Purchase it's Buyer beware!!!
HIP as thankfully the more inteligent readers of the more intelligent readers (seems some do exist) of the "DE" Real Estate Rag have pointed out is not a tax. Using the VI argument then having to get and produce a passport is a tax....... People are wising up to this being just more VI spin to protect the overpriced Survey scams currently permitted..

Most decent conveyancers always front loaded the transaction when selling anyway so this is much the same other than the inspection report of course.
