Shelter comment on rate of repossessions

Firstrung: Repossession cases seen by Shelter have more than doubled in past two years

The number of families threatened with homelessness as a result of mortgage repossessions has risen sharply in the past two years with repossession cases seen by Shelter advisers more than doubling.

If monetary policy had been tighter in the first place then perhaps so many personal tragedies would not now be unfolding. Who's fault is that? Surely it should not be difficult to see the evil temptations behind the combination of 3.5% base rates and a very well developed money lending economy. Thousands upon thousands of people will now suffer very badly as a result of this policy.
