Sayara Begg: Debt Diary Redux

BBC: My year of debt torment

"I was overcommitted, but anyone who starts a business knows that that is the way things go. What is the alternative - should you never risk anything?... There were some cruel comments after I wrote that my father had died - and then I had someone post on a message board some personal details they had found through Companies House...I am in a quandary. Should I never take financial risks again, with the chance that I may suffer a change of circumstances that my average male counterpart would not?"

Sayara says she now feels that she is on an even keel. The arrears built up in 2006 are nearly paid off. [thanks to the publicity on the BBC leading lenders to write off her debts!!!]

"Millions of Britons may feel that their life options are curtailed by debt."
I have nothing to add. It would appear this is is the future this generation has to look forward to.

She seems to have mutated from Sayara Begg to a more aptly named Sayara Beg.

I can find so many Indian restaurants completely empty all day on the street. How can they survive? Its a mistery. Anyway as such, running a resturant itself is an extremey risky enterprise. Buy to let is another extremely risky enterprise particularly years after the truogh of the property market with considerable uncertainty in the IR trend. Doubling such severe risks is just an speculative adverturism, not entrepreneurship. If a customer in her now shutdown restaurant disclosed that he was broke and penniless, after having had a hearty full course dinner, could she tolerate that?

Sayonara begg seems more appropriate than Sayara begg.

Well Ms Begg this is the downside of seeking publicity as a possible way of wriggling-out of some of your debt.

Talk about trying to have your cake and eating it!.
