Firstrung: House prices rise by one percent in estate agent's windows
The latest housing market survey from the National Association of Estate Agents has shown a positive overall national picture in the residential housing market for the start of 2007. Members have reported a steady market during January, with a good level of consumer confidence as the number of people registering to buy increased.

Up up and away. NAEA would have us think all is going swimmingly. One of the main reason VI have continued to suggest HPI will continue is because of a supply problem, but when the supply (stock of housing for sales) jumps radically....to quote the article...
'The number of houses for sale increased in January by 29% from levels reported in December.'
No one starts saying 'now we have lots of property coming on the market house prices will fall' which is odd as VI are always saying the reverse when stock is low. I feel this type of 1-way VI statements are disgusting and frankly a misrepresentation of the truth, could in the future VI groups and companies be held accountable for and sued for misrepresentation, after all bodies like the NAEA are supposed to offer the 'highest level of integrity' when in fact all we get is the grity.

The Real Estate Sector is the only private Non-Government part of the economy where the buyer (The key source of it's income) is treated with utter contemp and they promote the fact that the cost of their product is going up every year.
Can you just imagine it if a High Street Supermarket promoted "Increased Prices" Every little bit helps. Actually I have seen a few Real Estate Agents offices shut down, it just may be the fact that they are relocating by just the wonderful thought that they may have gone out of business and some of these guys have lost there jobs....
The most enjoyable sight a Real Estate Agent going out of business!!!
