Bliar has 11x joint income mortgage
Telegraph: Tories ask how Tony Blair can afford 5th home
Opposition MPs are demanding to know how the Blairs can afford a fifth home on their current income levels.
The addition of the £800,000 Georgian house to the Blairs' property empire means the couple could now have mortgage debts approaching £5 million, with monthly repayments of over £20,000.
However, according calculations, the Prime Minister and his wife should only have been able to borrow £1.3 million on their current earnings.

And it's Norman Baker MP leading the cavalry charge!
This LibDem MP for Lewes is prolific in exposing corruption and double-standards in the current government. Off the top of my head, this guy instigated investigations into:
NHS overspending
David Kelly Incident
Cash for Questions
Two Jags Allowances
Green Tax Fact and Fiction
FOI Act and MP expenses
In fact look at his pressbook:
http://www.normanbaker.org.uk/in_the_press.htm
New Labour must have his picture on the dartsboard.
Don't know if he would do a better job in government but amongst theives he's probably one of the better ones.

Bliar cannot afford to do anything that will upset the Yanks - he depends on them to repay his personal debts and has done so all through the dodgy dossier episode, the losses of British lives in Iraq, etc. etc. - is that corrupt or what??!

Bliar is a crook and a traitor.
One can only hope that one day he will pay for his crimes, crimes against humanity, and for the 'sale and betrayal' of the Nation to Corporate America.
Nobody should be shocked to find that he can easily raise funds.
He has ruined our Nation.

I agree Blair has ruined the nation. Margaret Thatcher was a saint compared to him. He is the devil in disguise. I never voted for him because I always saw labour to be the worse of two evils.
With regards to his property.. is it really anyone's business how he can afford it? I doubt he skimmed it off the public treasury. Most of their money comes from sherrie and I'm sure at almost 1million per year pay she would have had a sizeable deposit built up. Also which mortgage company is going to turn tony down. I wonder what rate he got and if he got a special deal?

This man is apparently a sophist in the chepest sense of the term, but in reailty he may well be a psychopath who finds immence pleasure in deceiving people, with his eloquence and rethoric. Majority of politicians may belong to this group, though.

some one has been watching property porn. "It formerly served as a stable block for the larger property and it is thought the Blairs plan to knock the properties into one."
I hope norman baker's points get more exposure. and they don't get the work done for free. - after all why the hell let them buy a place which isn't fit for purpose anyway.
