Warsaw Job Centre Plus Job Fair

British Embassy, Warsaw: Warsaw Job Centre Plus Job Fair

From 18-19 October Urząd Pracy (the Polish Employment Service), in partnership with Jobcentre Plus (part of the Department of Works and Pensions - UK Ministry of Labour), will be holding a job fair in Warsaw. So, it looks like uncontrolled immigration is not just an unintended consequence of the UK's poor implementation of Brussel's directives - It is NL policy. There are only 3 out of 15 member states allowing uncontrolled immigration to the new states. The UK is one of them.

This is deliberate Government policy to recruit cheap labour abroad. But every town and city in Britain has a growing army of young chavs who have gone straight from school on to welfare benefits with no intention of fending for themselves. Cut the benefit cheques after three months and most of these will take up the jobs. It's good for them and for the economy.

I see that the TUC are doing their part in helping to drive down the wages of their British members.

Oh well next year we can look forward to the Bucharest Job Fair and the Sofia Job Fair. The above organisations have probably already booked the biggest stands.

My friend and I are both desperate for a job at the moment so maybe we'll both go along to Warsaw.

I thought the Jobcentre was supposed to help people back into employment (!) not act as a staffing agency. And the TUC, I don't see what concern it is of theirs, in fact the exact opposite (as pointed out by sovietuk)
It seems a little strange that the Jobcentre have to go to Poland to find wokers when unemployment here is reaching a several year high - something ain't right!

My son and many of his friends have found it bewildering and convaluted to gain apprentiships as electricians and plumbers etc. I know many people who are in dead end jobs who can not afford to retrain or employees will not invest in their human resources. It is easy to dismiss our workforce as lazy. I.m.ho the education system has failed to provide sufficient skills for a generation now.

OK I am immigrant, I will not start talking about the world and life, globalisation and other things, what is natural and what is not and so on... But things happening in UK ar just unsutainable. We need to have migration, sustainable migration. We need to have property market and good economics - sustainable economics and markets.. Sustainable workforce and social integration. Just do not know. I suppose government institutions know well things they are doing.. otherwise, I am just confused. The fact that there is huge gap between people and government itself says something is wrong..

Should we have common sense and do together more to help us instead having ticking bomb over civil war and/or other things.. Let me know as we are organising some things..

Combine this with the required tax rises to fund all the extra services and its a civil war in the making, if unemployment rises drastically there will be murders and intimidation against immigrants legal or otherwise, Tony and Gordon will be gone and the country will be asking " How did this happen "?

Will mass migration from Poland precipitate a house price crash there? If so I may buy when it crashes. If anything this country needs more skilled immigrants rather than less. We are very heavily dependant on them. Do you really think chavs would work if you cut off their benefits? The non workers tend to be unqualified even for the most simple of tasks and they are not employable. Maybe we should do an exchange programme with warsaw.

I am quite surprised to hear about that Jobfair since the polish job market is lacking a huge number of qualified labour and already the government started creating gangs of prisoners to work outside the prisons to fill in the gaps...!
Also a lot of polish workers are priced out of their property market due to foreign investors snapping up the properties there.
By the way, in three years time Germany has to open their doors to east european workers and all other EU countries must open theirs by 2011. Hopefully that means that there will be a healthy mix of different nationalities spread around.
