Watta lotta rot! All these morons have done is compared the prices of three and four bedroom houses and found that there's a £180k difference (in Che£sea of all places.) Having talked to a number of people, including builders, on the subject of loft conversions, the broad opinion was that unless you were going to gain some use out of the loft, there was no point. Some years ago, before the latest fire regulations, this wheeze used to be an easy way of adding some k's onto the sale price. Not any more it would seem.
I'm just guessing here but if you were going to spend £30k on your pad in Chelsea, it'd probably be on the curtains. :-)
