Whitehouse: National Homeownership Month, 2006
Owning a home is an important part of the American dream ... promise of America ... The American Dream Downpayment Act ... NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim June 2006 as National Homeownership Month. I call upon the people of the United States to join me in building a more hopeful society and recognizing the importance of expanding the ownership of homes across our great Nation.

If Bush is saying it, the market will probably make a beeline for the bottom in response. The man is beyond words - plutocracy, stupidity, greed and fascism (and I mean it in the classical sense, i.e. fasces) all combined in one stultifying individual. What a clown!

It's not an article. It's one of those "crank 'em out" press plugs, probably requested by the housing industry to buck up business in a flagging time. Bush probably never laid eyes on the thing, his office put it out. Kind of like the little old ladies who get a letter on their 100th birthday. Thus no meat, no sauce, no real meaning.

which is anything BUT a press plug. However, I agree with your comment regarding the National Homeownership Month nonsense. Makes you wonder what they are promoting for the other 11 months - National Homelessness?
