£50 million to help homeless and overcrowded families in London, has been announced by Housing Minister Yvette Cooper.

Only 62,000 households placed in temporary accommodation!
Were the numbers at the end of WW2 much worse? After the war there was at least a spree in housebuilding.
It's interesting what little comment this announcement has generated.
