There are basically two views here:

1. the government and court journalists' spin that this is an ""investment" which will be profitable.


2. this will not end until property markets stabilise.


The first view is too ridiculous for words. If you bought a Damien Hirst Shark's Fart for £150 million you have lost £149.999,999 and have a bad smell stuck to your wall.

The second view is fraught with variants and very complicated.

What isn't complicated is that this enterprise is not profitable, although the Browns & Obamas will re-define "profitable".
